I obtained interest free loan of Rs.1,50,000/- from company for my heart treatment.

Rs.1500/- deducted in salary per month. I would like to know that interest of loan add in my income or it is exempted if interest add in my income how calculate it and method of calculation of interest and percentage of interest. pl advise me.
Perquisite in respect of loans for medical treatment of diseases specified in Rule 3A is exempt, provided the amount of loan for medical reimbursement is not reimbursed under any medical insurance scheme. In your case assuming that you have not received any amount from medical insurance then there is no perquisite. In case you have received a reimbursement from medical insurance then the perquisite of interest is taxable. The interest will be taken at the rate charged by SBI on such type of loan as on 01st day of the previous year ie for FY 2017-18 rate as on 01-04-2017. Such interest will be computed on the outstanding balance at the end of each month.
