Sir, our housing society in Thane sits on two plots, with another society occupying a part of the second plot. The neighbouring society fraudulently claimed the entire second plot as theirs (bizarrely, they used our documents and got their name updated in the property card). When we approached the police, the lawyer who had helped them in the process realised that she could be in trouble, and she gave us in writing that there was an inadvertent error in their paperwork. Our managing committee approached the District Deputy Registrar, but they were asked to approach the appropriate court. Can you please guide us on how to proceed in this matter. The other plot is in our name, and there is no dispute concerning that. Answered CHS, property-related issues
