I logged on to HDFC Bank website and spent over 30 minutes to search the link for filing an RTI Application against the bank for wrongfully debiting DEMAT account charges. I had never asked for a demat account in the first place. I later learnt from some other info on the google that Private Banks do not come under the ambit of RTI Act. Is it so? If so , how do get redressal for wrongful debit of DP charges. They are now accusing me (my son) of signing the papers for opening of an account and are now throwing a bait stating they will reimburse one month's charges. It appears they are giving out alms to the poor on the day of Ramzan.
