Another way is to ask the bank to give you copy of your credit report, if you had applied for a credit card/personal loan etc in recent past. As per RBI circular on 24 June 2009 (http://www.rbi.org.in/commonman/English/scripts/Notification.aspx?Id=455 ), a borrower, whose loan application is processed by the credit institution/ bank can obtain his credit report by paying Rs50, from the lender.
