SEBI Launches AI Chatbot SEVA To Enhance Investor Interaction
Moneylife Digital Team 30 July 2024
In a move to bolster investor protection, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has introduced SEBI’s virtual assistant (SEVA), an advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot.

SEVA, currently in its beta version, is designed to streamline investor interactions and provide crucial information in a user-friendly manner. One of its standout features is the provision of citations for the information it delivers, allowing investors to verify the accuracy and credibility of responses, the market regulator says in a release.

Additionally, SEVA includes speech-to-text and text-to-speech functionalities, making it more accessible to users with visual impairments or those who prefer auditory information. The chatbot also supports follow-up questions, enabling more dynamic and interactive conversations to better understand queries.

Currently, SEVA is programmed to address a range of topics, such as general information on the securities market, the latest master circulars, and the grievance redressal process. SEBI plans to expand SEVA’s capabilities based on user feedback, with additional functionalities and areas of knowledge to be integrated in future updates.

The beta version of SEVA can be accessed on SEBI’s investor website (https://investor.sebi.gov.in/) and through the SAARTHI mobile app, which is available for both Android and iOS devices.
