A court in Bengaluru on Friday remanded Prajwal Revanna, the suspended member of parliament (MP) from Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)), to seven days of police custody till 6th June.

The 33-year-old MP, who is the grandson of former prime minister (PM) HD Deve Gowda, was arrested in the early hours after his return from Munich in Germany. He allegedly went to Germany after videos became public in which women were seen being sexually abused allegedly by him.

As soon as he landed at the Bengaluru airport in the wee hours of Friday, there was a posse of women police personnel led by women IPS officers waiting to execute the arrest warrant against him in sexual assault cases.

Three cases have been registered against him after a huge cache of leaked videos purportedly showing several women being sexually abused by the grandson of former PM Deve Gowda.

He will be interrogated by a special investigation team (STI) constituted to probe the charges of sexual assault against him.
