Nifty, Sensex Struggling to Head Higher - Tuesday Closing Report

On Tuesday, 2853 stocks advanced, 1003 declined and 103 remained unchanged, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) with an advance decline ratio of 2.84 indicating positive closing of stocks in broader markets. The trend of the major indices on Tuesday’s trading is given in the table below. 
 
 
On NSE, 105 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 6 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectoral indices, Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma were among the biggest losers. Nifty Media, Nifty Metal and Nifty Auto were among the biggest gainers.
 
Jammu & Kashmir Bank (+1.07%) has signed Corporate Agency Agreement with New India Assurance Company for servicing and soliciting their insurance products through its Branch Network. 
 
Sterlite Technologies (STL) (+3.21%) has been awarded orders worth around Rs900 crore in FY23-24 to provide integrated optical solutions to the leading service providers in the country.
 
Ion Exchange (India) (+1.57%) has been awarded a Contract from Material Construction, UAE for Engineering, Manufacturing, Delivery to site, supervision of erection, commissioning and start-up of Desalinated water unit for a project in North Africa at a contract value of Rs250.65 crore.
 
Central Bank of India (CBI) (-0.24%) is venturing into Supply Chain Financing by leveraging Veefin’s expertise and technology. 
 
Uflex’s (+7.18%) step-down subsidiary -- Flex Films Rus LLC, Russia, has commissioned CPP Film production line with its installed capacity of 18000 MT per year.
 
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) (+11.98%) will vertically demerge its Madura Fashion & Lifestyle business into a separate listed entity.
 
Inflame Appliances (+2.21%) has entered into agreement with KAFF Appliances India as on April 01, 2024 for manufacturing, assemble and supply of built in Refrigerators, wine coolers, Built in hobs, built in oven and chimneys.
 
NTPC (+0.76%) has added 3,924 MW power generation capacity in 2023-24, taking the total installed capacity to around 76GW. 
 
Religare Enterprises (+4.65%) Director sold net 1,288,262 shares through open market. Aksh Optifibre (+4.73%) Promoter sold net 150,000 shares through open market. Eclerx Services (-0.18%) insiders sold net 21,001 shares through open market.
