Nifty, Sensex React After four Days of Rally; Smaller Stocks Correct More: Tuesday Market Report

On Tuesday, 1,597 stocks advanced, 2,632 declined and 173 remained unchanged on Bombay Stock Exchange with advance decline ratio of 0.60 indicating a negative closing.

On NSE, 103 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 28 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. Nifty India Defence, Nifty Metal and Nifty media were among the biggest losers. Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG were among the biggest gainers.
 
The Indian government accused Adani Group's duty-free shops at Mumbai International Airport of illegally selling nicotine pouches, violating Indian law, with no immediate response from Adani.
 
H.G. Infra Engineering (-1.38%) confirmed six of its solar project subsidiaries were struck off by the Registrar of Companies, effective 7 July 2026, without impacting the company's operations or finances.
 
Torrent Pharmaceuticals (+0.70%) received NCLT approval for its merger with J.B. Chemicals, pending filing with the Registrar of Companies, to streamline operations and boost shareholder value.

Philippine Airlines partnered with Rategain Travel Technologies (+0.47%) to use AI-powered pricing tool AirGain for enhanced fare competitiveness and data-driven pricing across global routes.
 
Ceigall India’s (+5.78%) Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Highway project, valued at ₹1,089 crore, was appointed on July 6, 2026, under Hybrid Annuity Mode for constructing a 48.10 km four-lane highway with paved shoulders.
