Nifty, Sensex Pause for Breath: Wednesday Closing Report

On Wednesday, 1910 stocks advanced, 2043 declined and 94 remained unchanged, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) with an advance decline ratio of 0.79, indicating negative closing of stocks in broader markets. The trend of the major indices on Wednesday’s trading is given in the table below.
 
 
On NSE, 155 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 27 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectoral indices, Nifty PSU Bank Media, Nifty IT and Nifty Metal among the biggest losers. Nifty Pharma, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Media among the biggest gainers.
 
Prakash Pipes (+1.58%) successfully commissioned its Nordmeccanica Supercombi 5000 laminator, looking at the growing demand for value added solutions such as HSL coating, water based adhesive lamination, in-register cold seal adhesive and foil-to-foil based lamination.
 
Mankind Pharma (+1.12%) executed the Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) to transfer Over the Counter (OTC) Business Undertaking (defined in the BTA) of the Company as a going concern on a slump sale basis to Mankind Consumer Products (MCPPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. The completion of slump sale of OTC Business Undertaking to MCPPL is subject to pre-conditions, closing actions and other terms and conditions as specified in the BTA.
 
Torrent Power (+1.21%) entered into a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 03, 2024 with the Department of Water Resources, Government of Maharashtra for establishment of Pumped Storage projects with a total capacity of 5,600 MW instead of 5,700 MW. Earlier, the MoU was entered with the Department of Energy, Government of Maharashtra for total capacity of 5,700 MW.
KPI Green Energy (+0.86%) obtained approvals for 16 MW of solar power projects. These projects were executed for its clients KPIG Energia and Sun Drops Energia, wholly owned subsidiaries companies. 
 
Dalmia Bharat’s (+0.58%) wholly owned subsidiary -- Dalmia Cement (Bharat) entered into share subscription agreement to acquire 26% of equity share capital of Truere Surya, consisting of 4,48,00,000 equity shares aggregating to Rs 44.80 crore in one or more tranches to source solar power as a captive consumer for a capacity upto 128 MW located in the State of Tamil Nadu. 
 
Lupin (+1.65%) launched Mirabegron Extended-Release Tablets, 50 mg, in the United States, after having received an approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). Mirabegron Extended-Release Tablets, 50 mg is a generic equivalent of Myrbetriq Extended-Release Tablets, 50 mg of Astellas Pharma Global Development, Inc. Mirabegron Extended-Release Tablets, 50 mg had estimated annual sales of $1.6 billion in the United States.
 
NBCC (India) (-1.02%) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RITES. This MoU aims to achieve the effectiveness of synergy and cooperation on a long-term basis to explore combined business interest in relation to the development, financing and execution of projects across India and Overseas. The MoU is in the normal course of business of the Company.
 
McDonald's India (West & South), operated by Westlife Foodworld (-0.10%), has partnered with the prestigious food technology research institute, CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), under the central Ministry of Science & Technology, to launch the multi-millet bun.
 
Minda Corporation (+0.53%) entered into a Technology Licensing and Assistance (TLA) Agreement with Sanco Connecting Technology (Guangdong) China (Licensor). Through this TLA, Minda Corp will bring to India extensive portfolio of High Voltage EV connecting systems (including terminals), charging gun and socket, bus bar for battery packs, power distribution unit and battery distribution unit. 
Bikaji Foods International (-0.40%) completed the acquisition of 55% of total issued and paid-up equity share capital in Ariba Foods. 
 
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) (-1.07%) carved out a separate business vertical for renewable EPC out of its power transmission & distribution business, within its Infrastructure Projects segment.
