Nifty, Sensex Continue to Languish: Thursday Closing Report

On Thursday, stocks 1207 advanced, 2751 declined and 109 remained unchanged, with an advance decline ratio 0.44 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), indicating negative closing of stocks in broader markets. The trend of the major indices on Thursday’s trading is given in the table below. 
 
 
On NSE, 34 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 95 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectoral indices, Nifty Pharma was the only gainer. Nifty IT, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy were among the biggest losers.
 
SRF and Navin Fluorine International (+9.49%)  surged after reports of U.S. gas distributor, IGas USA said that the supply of R32 and R125 has been impacted and prices will be increased by up to 200%. The R32 refrigerant is used in air conditioning and low-temperature refrigeration systems. It absorbs heat and creates cool air. Similarly, the R125 is also used in air conditioning, refrigeration and other industries.
 
Puravankara (-2.42%) acquired a 3.63-acre land parcel in Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru. According to the company, this acquisition aligns with the company’s strategic vision to expand its footprint in key Bengaluru micro-markets with robust infrastructure, connectivity, and residential demand. The recently acquired land parcel in Vajrahalli, Kanakapura Road, spans an area of 3.63 acres, with a saleable area of 5.42 lakh sqft and a total estimated gross development value of Rs700 plus crore.
 
NMDC (-1.86%) received an in-principle approval for incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary of the company at GIFT City, Gujarat and opening of NMDC oiaison offices at Dubai, UAE and Brisbane/Melbourne, Australia.
 
Newgen Software Technologies (-2.22%) material subsidiary-- Newgen Software Inc. (NSI) executed an agreement with a USA based healthcare client for enterprise content management. The aggregate value of the aforesaid agreement is $2,576,284. duration of contract is three years.
 
TV Today Network (+2.46%) received an approval for the closure of FM radio broadcasting operations of the company (comprising of three FM radio stations in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata under the frequency 104.8 FM) subject to regulatory approvals. 
 
NTPC Green Energy’s (NGEL) (-3.61%) wholly owned subsidiary -- NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Gandhidham, Gujarat. This MoU intends furthering the green energy technologies in Kandla Port under DPA and especially green hydrogen mobility project.
 
GMR Airports (-0.95%) entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire up to 5,00,000 equity shares and up to 1,90,00,000 non-cumulative compulsorily convertible preference shares of Bird Delhi General Aviation Services (BDGASPL) (representing up to 50% of the paid-up share capital of BDGASPL) from existing shareholders of BDGASPL, for a total consideration of around Rs15.02 crore in one or more tranches.
 
Morepen Laboratories (-4.59%) incorporated subsidiary company by name Morepen Medtech. The company received certificate of incorporation from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.  
 
Lupin (+0.03%) received the establishment inspection report (EIR) from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Pithampur Unit-1 manufacturing facility that manufactures both APIs and finished products. The EIR was issued with an inspection classification of voluntary action indicated (VAI) post the inspection of the facility from 16 September to 27 September 2024.
 
Bajaj Housing Finance (-2.07%) raised Rs2,898.83 crore through the allotment of 2,87,500 non-convertible debentures (NCDs), at face value of Rs1,00,000 each, on private placement basis.
