Nifty, Sensex Continue to be Trendless – Monday Market Report

On Monday, 2503 stocks advanced, 1557 declined and 168 remained unchanged on Bombay Stock Exchange with advance decline ratio of 1.61 indicating a positive closing in the broader market. The trend of the major indices on Monday’s trading is given in the table below. 
 
 
On NSE, 35 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 53 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows.  In sectoral indices, Nifty Auto and Nifty FMCG were among the biggest losers. Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Metal and Nifty Media were among the biggest gainers.
 
Waaree Renewable Technologies (+2.09%) received a letter of intent (LoI) for the execution of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for Ground mount solar power project of 105 MWp (DC) capacity on turnkey basis. 
 
Bharti Airtel (+0.84%) and Bajaj Finance entered into a strategic partnership to create one of India’s largest digital platforms for financial services and transform last mile delivery. The one-of-a-kind partnership brings together Airtel’s highly engaged customer base of 370 million, 12 lakh+ strong distribution network, and Bajaj Finance’s diversified suite of 27 product lines, and distribution heft of 5,000+ branches and 70,000 field agents.
 
Advait Energy Transitions received an order from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development for design, development deployment and maintenance of web based online portal and mobile application for the implementation of off grid or stand-alone solar pumps (40,000 Nos) under PM KUSUM Component 'B' scheme in the State of Karnataka including cloud services, Integration with payment and SMS gateway, configuration of RMS devices and integration with SEDM portal and also pperations and maintenance for a period of five years.
 
Dixon Technologies’ (India) (+1.87%) subsidiary -- IsmartU India (IIPL) entered into a binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KHY Electronic India (KHY), whereby IIPL will acquire, land and building, machinery and other tangible assets, from KHY, for an amount of up to Rs133 crore excluding applicable taxes, subject to necessary adjustments in terms of due diligence and satisfactory completion of conditions precedent as set out in MoU and signing of definitive agreements.
 
Dalmia Bharat’s (+1.75%)  wholly owned subsidiary -- Dalmia Cement (Bharat) (DCBL) has entered into an agreement  to acquire 26% of equity share capital of Solis Urja Energy, to source solar power as a captive consumer for a capacity upto 7.0 MWp located in Andhra Pradesh. 
 
Ashapura Minechem’s (+4.58%) overseas subsidiary entered into a long-term memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Railway, a Global Fortune 500 Company, to jointly develop its Fako bauxite deposit in the Kindia region of Guinea.
 
Earnings
Kotak Mahindra Bank reported 10.23% rise in its net profit at Rs4701.02 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2024  as compared to Rs4264.78 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank decreased by 0.57% at Rs23945.79 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs24083.15 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
SBI Life Insurance Company reported 71.20% rise in net profit at Rs550.82 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs321.75 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Net premium income of the company increased by 11.25% at Rs24,827.54 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs22,316.47 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
Chennai Petroleum Corporation (+1.17%) reported 94.31% fall in its net profit at Rs20.78 crore for the quarter ended 31 December, 2024 as compared to Rs365.28 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 23.31% at Rs15,687.64 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs20,456.42 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
One97 Communications (-0.17%) reported net loss of Rs208.50 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2024 as compared to net loss of Rs221.70 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 32.76% at Rs2,016.50 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs2,999.10 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
DCM Shriram (+2.81%) reported 9.01% rise in its net profit at Rs262.14 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2024 as compared to Rs240.48 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 12.21% at Rs3559.98 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs3172.65 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
RBL Bank (+1.97%) reported 80.68% fall in its net profit at Rs47.32 crore for the quarter ended 31 December 2024 as compared to Rs244.89 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank increased by 16.17% at Rs4,610.47 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs3,968.82 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
 
Indian Hotels Company (-2.50%) reported 32.63% rise in its net profit at Rs632.53 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2024 as compared to Rs476.93 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 29.35% at Rs2591.73 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs2003.64 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
