Glenmark unit starts selling cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride tablets in US

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd said its unit Glenmark Generics started marketing and distribution of cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride tablets in the US market.

Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride tablets are the generic version of Flexeril tablets of McNeil Pediatrics. These tablets are used as an adjunct to rest and physical therapy for relief of muscle spasm associated with painful musculoskeletal conditions.
 
According to IMS Health data, overall generic market sales for the product are approximately $36 million for the 12 month period ending March 2010, it said in a  regulatory filing. 

On Friday, Glenmark Pharma shares ended 0.7% down at Rs269 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, while the Sensex closed 0.7% lower to 17,868 points.
