Decision on dual control in GST remains elusive
IANS 04 November 2016
The decision on the issue of dual control between the Centre and states remained elusive at the conclusion of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council's fourth meet here on Friday, a state Finance Minister said.

The Council, which reached a consensus on the four-tier tax slab structure for the GST on Thursday, was to decide on the issue of dual control during its meeting on Friday.

The consensus on dual control remains critical for the implementation of the new indirect tax regime for which the government is targeting the implementation date of April 1, next year.
