On Tuesday, 2867 stocks advanced, 1096 declined and 110 remained unchanged, with an advance decline ratio of 1.61x on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), indicating positive closing of stocks in broader markets. While around 1,298 stocks were down more than 3% on yesterday 13 January 2025, only 641 stocks up more than 3% today 14 January 2025. The top three gainers in in Nifty 200 were all Adani group stocks – Adani Power (+19.36%), Adani Green (+13.16%), Adani Energy Solutions (11.99%). Other major gainers included Adani Enterprises (+6.98%), Adani Total Gas Ltd. (+6.62%) and Adani Ports (4.73%).

On NSE, 14 securities advanced and closed at a new 52-week high whereas 152 securities sank to close at their new 52-week lows. In sectoral indices, Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG were among the biggest losers. Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy were among the biggest gainers.
Adani Green Energy (+13.16%) commissioned a 57.2 MW wind power component as part of its wind-solar hybrid project. This addition has increased the company's total operational renewable generation capacity to 11,666.1 MW.
Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) (+5.54%) emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a financing project worth Rs316 crore. The project is being undertaken by a joint venture between NTPC and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam.
United Drilling Tools (+4.06%) secured first order from Taiwan worth $4,82,444 by Magitech International. This overseas order comprises the supply of survey line winch and integral blade stabilizers, which are critical tools in advanced drilling operations. The delivery of these high-products is scheduled to be completed over a period of six months.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) (-0.05%) launched the second multi-purpose vessel (MPV) christened ‘INS Utkarsh’, for the Indian Navy from its Kattupalli Shipyard near Chennai. Following an accelerated production schedule, the launch of INS Utkarsh comes within three months of the launch of the first MPV INS Samarthak. The first vessel is now being readied for undergoing tests and trials prior to its delivery to the Indian Navy.
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) (+3.38%) completed the acquisition of 7,989 equity shares of Rs22,100 each, representing 55% of the issued and paid-up share capital of Rajscape Hotels for a total consideration of around Rs17.66 crore.
HCL Technologies entered into an agreement with Carrix, the world’s largest independent marine and rail terminal operator, to improve Carrix’s global port operations with HCL Tech’s sadvanced suite of AI of Things (AIoT) technology platform.
Gufic Biosciences (-1.48%) made an investment of AED 200,000 in Veira Life FZE, Wholly Owned Subsidiary in Dubai, UAE by way of initial subscription to the share capital. Veira Life FZE’ shall carry on the business of marketing, distribution and sale of pharmaceutical products.
Tera Software’s (+5.00%) consortium led by their Partner ITI (Public Sector Undertaking, DoT) secured an advance work order (AWO) from BharatNet Project for middle mile network - phase-3 with in the States of Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar, with a total worth of order value of Rs5049 crore for design, supply, construction, installation, upgradation, operation and maintenance of middle mile network of BharatNet.
Earnings
Delta Corp (-1.44%) reported 3.63% rise in net profit at Rs35.73 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs34.48 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company decreased by 7.12% at Rs206.99 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs 222.86 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
HCL Technologies (-8.84%) reported 5.58% rise in net profit at Rs4,594 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs4,351 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 5.38% at Rs30,367 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs28,816 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
